Most of the tunnel equipment and systems require electrical energy to operate. Therefore, equipment for supplying power to the tunnel must be installed. This installation has to satisfy two essential requirements: Meet the needs under all operational situations (normal, degraded, critical, emergency).

Can a type 2 cabinet be used for a single phase power supply?

Type 2 cabinets shall only be used for single phase power supply. For a Type 2 Cabinet, a key for the padlock shall be provided inside the cabinet of the connected load (e.g. traffic signal controller) and appropriately labelled with a key tag.

Which electrical components are suitable for a power supply?

All electrical components shall be suitable for operation on a supply complying with the Queensland Electricity Regulation 2006.
